When to use it

  • Users have a clear task.

Ask yourself

  • Should a tool increase time spent in the product?

Put it into action

  • Measure completion, elapsed time, and repeat use together. Separate productive activity from time wasted looking for a way forward.

Keep these limits in mind

  • Entertainment need not end quickly, and tools still need retention. An intention to save time is not proof of shorter tasks or better relationships.
