The method

Test agents against cross-application goals

Organize the agent experience around a complete user goal and continuous context, checking whether it delivers an authorized result rather than just advice.

When to use it

  • A task spans applications and requires repeated context entry or manual handoffs.

Ask yourself

  • Where must users still repeat explanations or perform manual handoffs?
  • Does the system achieve the result or only suggest the next step?

Put it into action

  • Select one frequent task and test end-to-end success using current capabilities.
  • Compare manual steps, accuracy and recovery costs before widening the scope.

Keep these limits in mind

  • Adoption timelines and industry replacement in the article are historical forecasts, not facts about current capabilities.
  • More applications are not inherently better; subtract the costs of errors, confirmations and recovery from the value.
