Reassess platforms through usage and ecosystem feedback
The method
Reassess platforms through usage and ecosystem feedback
Observe a new platform’s experience and how users and supply reinforce one another; let new evidence change strategic priorities.
When to use it
- A new technology or standard may change distribution and competition.
Ask yourself
- Do users and content or service supply actually reinforce each other?
- Which new fact would justify changing our resource allocation?
Put it into action
- Try it directly and compare adoption by users, partners and competitors.
- Record the basis for strategic revisions and cross-team dependencies; review them regularly.
Keep these limits in mind
- Excerpts from a historical memo do not mean any new platform is bound to win.
- Positive feedback needs observable evidence in the current setting; a historical analogy cannot prove demand.
