The method

Separate memory access from permission to use it

For agent memory and collaboration across contexts, define what can be read, for which tasks and to whom it may be disclosed.

When to use it

  • Agents retain long-term context or collaborate across work, personal life and other services.

Ask yourself

  • Does remembering information authorize its use in another context?
  • Which details must not be disclosed when agents communicate?

Put it into action

  • List data sources, purposes and recipients by task, with revocable permission.
  • Test misuse and leakage across work and personal contexts, leaving the final decision with the user.

Keep these limits in mind

  • Personalization does not authorize unlimited reading or sharing.
  • The historical article raises questions, not a finished permission architecture; the concrete design needs current validation.
