Revisit workflow decomposition
The method
Revisit workflow decomposition
Old intermediate steps may now lose information or restrict capability.
When to use it
- A model upgrade or accumulated rules and preprocessing.
Ask yourself
- After a model upgrade, do we still need the old workflow?
Put it into action
- Compare keeping, merging, and removing steps on the same evaluation set. Preserve a recoverable version and track new as well as reduced failures.
Keep these limits in mind
- Removing steps can introduce errors. Greater capability does not justify dropping necessary controls.
